About us
Take the Lead is a friendly, reliable and professional dog walking service covering Consett, Shotley Bridge and surrounding areas.
Run by two dedicated sisters, both are experienced dog owners who work closely together to ensure your furry friends receive all the love, care and attention they need and deserve.
Both are DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checked and are fully insured, specifically tailored to professional dog walking, including pet transport, dog walking in public areas and key holding.
We'll come to you for a free home visit, to find out more about you and your pets and discuss your specific requirements which will help us to establish and maintain a great rapport.
Dog Walking Services
Our priority is to provide a safe, fun and socially fulfilling experience on every walk - all our groups are individually shaped to suit each dog's needs.
Small Group Walks
We only ever walk dogs in small groups of 5 or less.
Group walks in the countryside are a great way to exercise your dog while promoting positive social skills.
A specially adapted vehicle is used for the safe and comfortable transport of your dog.

30 Minute Bespoke Comfort Visit - From £8.00
Small Pet Care - Pet Pop Ins
If you have a pet that doesn't require a walk, we can pop in for approximately 20 minutes to feed it, change its bedding, let it out for a wee in the garden, change litter trays or simply just give it, some attention when you're unable to be at home.
If you're going away on holiday, we can also pop in and see to cats, rabbits. guinea pigs and other small pets.
Based on a 20 minute visit, the costs are:
1 visit a day: £8, 2 visits a day: £14.
